Senior Full Stack Web Developer | Frontend Focus

Purpose
The role is for a full stack developer, however with a focus on Front End development. As the team will initially be small, knowledge will be shared around the team, ensuring everyone has sight of each other’s roles and responsibilities.

This new department will be the technical knowledge and development hub of the wider business, providing advice and services within the group, with any array of different project types and lengths; keeping the work varied and interesting.
The role is based in Bristol, with a requirement to attend the office twice a week, working remotely the rest of the time.

Utilise your experience and insight to assist driving the strategic technical vision of the group and maximise the digital experience of customer projects

Responsible for understanding the customer requirement and architect the most appropriate technical response

Confident communicating with internal teams and clients to elicit clearly defined requirements and convert these into robust technical solutions

Experienced in helping produce technical specifications, documentation and accurately estimating the time required for the build

Confident contribution to testing strategies and providing high-quality user training
-
Experienced in producing high-quality code, demonstrating commercial awareness

Ready to operate as technical lead on projects and day to day management of the technical team and making sure the technical outputs align to project requirements

Confident in contributing to proposals

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all aspects of digital – including emerging technology, innovation and delivery tools
Experience & Skills
Core skills:
-
Clean HTML5 output production
-
CSS3 production through SCSS / SASS
-
Knowledge of jQuery, native JS and other JS solutions
-
Knowledge of bootstrap and other open-source responsive frameworks
-
Mobile first, responsive site production
-
React or another front-end JS frontend library
-
Experience of Barba, ThreeJS and GSAP (Greensock javascript animation platform)

Understand JSON / XML being able to integrate an API feed into a build

Production of CSS & JS transitions; parallax, video overlays, CSS animation etc.

PHP7+ experience, to hook front end production into backend systems

Local development and git knowledge

Experience of using JIRA / Confluence

Experience of receiving designs via Figma, Adobe Xd, Zeplin or a similar design tools. Experience of manipulating SVGs in Adobe Illustrator is advantageous
